At the head of the city’s largest criminal organizations, men and women fight to control territories and gain support by trying every means possible to grow their influence. Control of the District Noir, a central and highly contested area, remains the major issue that will make all the difference in dominating the city. There are two paths to victory: win over District Noir’s various supports, or directly control the city’s three strategic locations. Before players can claim these, they must be played to the center of the table. Strategically time when you play your cards, because once a round you’ll take the first 5 in the line. At the end of the game earn points for having the majority of each supporter and collecting sets of them. That is — if one player doesn’t immediately win by claiming the three locations!
SET COLLECTION STRATEGY CARD GAME: Demonstrate your tactical sense to manage your hand of cards in the best way possible. The cards in your hand are first placed in the center of the table to later be collected by you or your opponent. You will also need a good sense of timing: which cards do you put down and in which order? When do you get cards back?
RISK-TAKING AND BLUFFING GAME: There is always a palpable tension during each game, since players are able to win immediately by collecting the 3 City cards. District Noir is also a game of risk-taking and bluffing. Besides making the right choices, you have to push your opponent into making bad ones.
GREAT TWO PLAYER GAME FOR GAME NIGHT: District Noir is the perfect two player game for a head-to-head challenge. Clever maneuvers require careful choice of your own actions, while also ensuring you control what actions your opponent can take. Quick playtime encourages back-to-back games to be played.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: District Noir is made for 2 players and is suitable for ages 10 and older. Average playtime is about 10 to 20 minutes.
